Storing Dry Goods
- Paper bags of flour & sugar are prone to tears & holes
- Instead transfer dry goods from their original packaging into a gallon-size zipper-lock bag
- Don't forget to label the bag
- The plastic is sturdier than paper & more compact than a hard storage container
- Also the bag's large opening makes it easy to measure without making a mess
Easier Dish Soap
- If you're tired of having to pop open your liquid dish soap cover try this instead
- A clear plastic squeeze bottle (like a ketchup bottle) makes an effective dispenser for liquid
dish soap - Also it's better looking than the original container
Covering Open Cans
- What should you do when you need only 1 piece of Hearts of Palm from a new can you just opened.
- You can create a makeshift lid by covering the opening with plastic wrap or a square napkin & fasten the cover with a rubber band.
- This works:
1. For all cans whose covers you prefer to throw away so you don't cut yourself on the cover
2. Since leaving the cover on allows the cover to fall into the can which lets air seep into the
can while it's in the refrigerator.
Pouring Oil Without Spills
- There is a better way to pour oil without making a mess
- Instead of opening a new gallon of oil by taking off the foil or plastic safety liner underneath the lid, use a skewer or a paring knife to poke a small hole in the liner so that you can pour out smaller amounts of oil without worrying that too much will gush out.

& easy.
Make Oven Cleaning Easy
- The secret to make oven cleaning easy is to take care of spills the second they happen.

the air on steam & end up there. - Make it easy to clean by topping it with a layer of plastic wrap each month.
- Then simply remove the plastic wrap & replace.
A Lemon Fresh Kitchen
- To give your kitchen a lemon fresh scent & get rid of cooking odors like fish or burned toast, you don’t need to buy expensive air fresheners.
- Just use a real lemon
1. Poke a few holes in it with a toothpick or skewer, then place it directly on the rack in a
300°F oven for 15 minutes.
2. Leave the oven door slightly ajar, so that the wonderful aroma can permeate the whole room - Or you can slice a lemon & boil it in some water on the stovetop for 10–15 minutes as well.
