- Over the counter meds for headaches & upset stomachs
- 12 hour light sticks
- Hand held fan & extra batteries
- A radio with batteries
- Fire extinguisher

- Old fashioned hand operated can opener
- Paper plates, cups & plasticware
- Napkins and paper towels
- Garbage bags
- 1 gallon of bottled water per person per day- but change supplies every 6 months
- Hard candy in case you run out of water
- Canned or packaged food like tuna or salmon
- Dried fruits
- Cereals, granola bars, nuts, crackers
- Electrolyte drinks
- Baby food & infant forumula if you have an infant

DURING THE EMERGENCY
- Stay away from downed power lines
- Use your flashlight only for emergency light so you won’t wear down your batteries
- Turn off all electrical equipment that was on before the disaster began
- Avoid opening your refrigerator & freezer
- Check on your elderly neighbors
- Try to stay calm
