HANDICAPPED ROOMS
- Not all handicapped rooms have walk-in or roll-in showers.
- Many hotels place their handicapped room close to stairs that will lead you down to
an outdoor exit & this usually makes the rooms a long walk from the elevator.

ROOMS WITH TERRACES OR BALCONIES
In order to reduce electricity costs, many hotels chains have
the air-conditioning go off when you open the door to your terrace or balcony.

HOUSEKEEPING
In order to reduce costs &/or to go 'green,' many hotel chains have:
- Installed electronic motion sensors in the bathrooms which turn off the light
when they do not sense movement in the bathroom. - Installed electronic motion sensors in rooms & suites that will automatically cause the light
you have purposely left on to go off after a certain time has passed - usually 30 minutes. - Installed electronic monitoring devices in rooms that send a signal to housekeeping
to alert them when you have left your room so they can send someone to clean it. - In some hotels, the closet light goes on when you open the closet & go off when you
close
the closet. - A policy to change bed linens every 3 days
for guests staying
3 days or longer.

RESORT FEE
- Most hotels charge a Resort Fee which covers costs of Wi-Fi, entrance to the Spa, etc.
- If you are traveling on your own, the front desk personel will inform you of the fee.
- However, if you travel with a group, not all tour operators include this fee in their contracts .
- You may find this fee on your bill at checkout.

WAKE UP CALLS
- Most hotels have an automated system for wake up calls
- The phone will ring until you pick it up If you don't pick up the phone, eventually
a hotel staff member will come to knock on your door to be sure everything is all right.
