KITCHEN PREP
- Wash the top of the can before opening it
- Wash everything that comes in contact with raw meat, poultry or fish
in hot soapy water before it's used again - Never put cooked food or ready to eat food on an unwashed cutting board
or plate that previously held raw meat, poultry or fish - Do NOT just run fruits & vegetables under the water - WASH them
- Scrub with soap anything with a skin including melons, apples, oranges, etc.
- Slice the top & bottom off of tomatoes, apples & pears after washing
& then slice the fruit - If you are mixing something in a bowl even if it's just salad ingredients
& something spills over onto the counter throw it away - Do NOT let cutting or cooking utensils rest on the counter
- Use a meat, dairy or pareve 'spoon' rests making sure to wash them
inbetween cooking different items

TABLE SAFETY
PLACEMATS
- Make sure to clean them with soap & water after each usage
- Do NOT stack them on top of each other to dry
PLASTIC TABLECLOTHS
- Make sure to clean it with soap & water after each usage
- Make sure it's dry before you put it away
IF NO COVERING ON YOUR TABLE
- Do NOT eat food that falls off your plate or from a serving dish onto the table
- Use the same process to clean the table as for counters (above)
TV TRAY
- Do NOT eat food that falls off your plate onto the tray
- Use the same process to clean the tray as for counters (above)

MEALS TO GO
- Make sure to store any leftovers properly in the refrigerator
- Do NOT store them in the container that they came in
- Cover them tightly with plastic wrap or aluminum foil
- Visually inspect leftovers & smell them to make sure they are still fresh
if you keep them more than 24 hours

SCHOOL LUNCHES
Throw away any uneaten prepared foods
that come home from school with your child except for
- Packaged foods like chips, etc.
- Juice boxes
